King Misuzulu urges KZN govt to address land issues following deadly weather

DURBAN - Zulu King, Misuzulu kaZwelithini has called on the KwaZulu-Natal government to convene a summit to address land issues following weather-related disasters.
The Zulu monarch said it's high time that government reflects on how people are allocated land, citing areas prone to disaster.
The King was speaking at the opening of the provincial legislature ahead of the State of the Province Address on Thursday.

Eleven people have died from weather-related disasters in Durban this week.
The monarch said the disasters are concerning.
"I have observed the great concern in the areas under the traditional leadership, as well as in uncertain urban settlements. Homes are being built too close to the roads, and too close to water streams, placing our people in grave danger."
He further called for urgent action.
"This is an issue that demands decisive urgent action."
