JOHANNESBURG - There is no sight of former African National Congress (ANC) secretary in Gauteng, TK Nciza at the inauguration of the party’s newly appointed provincial task team.
The party is unveiling its rearranged provincial leadership on Wednesday, after reconfiguring the structure following its dismal electoral performance.
Party Secretary General Fikile Mbalula will announce the organisation’s new leaders in Gauteng, who are tasked with recovering lost ground.
Journalists were given a brief opportunity to enter the venue where it's Gauteng provincial task team is holding is being unveiled, and the room was filled with joy.

But former provincial secretary Nciza, who was the party’s leader in the province, was nowhere to be seen.
While Eyewitness News understands Nciza will not hold a top position in the provincial task team, his absence on Wednesday has raised questions about his stance on the restructured Gauteng leadership.
ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said the leadership changes in Gauteng are necessary.
“We have to really recover from the lost ground and to ensure that the electoral outcomes that we suffered are recovered.”
Nciza is the only ANC leader in Gauteng who has snubbed Wednesday’s meeting.
Amos Masondo, who EWN understands is the Provincial Task Team’s Convenor, is here.
