JOHANNESBURG - Gautrain has announced its services between Rosebank and Park Station are back to normal.

The train service’s underground tunnel was damaged due to the illegal drilling of a borehole on private property above.

It’s understood that soil and water seeped into the transport system from the borehole, disrupting the operating systems.

Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayager said all damages were repaired over the weekend.

“We wish to use this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this time, and to thank our technical teams for the hard work that they have done to ensure that the repair work could be done as speedily as possible.”
