JOHANNESBURG - Joburg residents in some areas are warned about a two-hour power outage, from now until 6pm on Monday.
City Power said the unplanned shutdown has been caused by an urgent need to switch off its Sebenza substation for repair work to be done on vandalised infrastructure.
Utility spokesperson Isaac Mangena said areas including Alexandra, Observatory and Westfields will be affected.
"By repairing this component, we are taking significant steps towards improving the overall quality of electricity supply in your area and minimising the risks of unplanned outages."
