Several studies said that Centurion was prone to sinkholes as it was underlined by dolomite rock, which dissolved easily in water.
Tshwane MMC for Corporate and Shared Services Kholofelo Morodi said they remained a huge concern for the city.
"You would have seen earlier this week, with the heavy rains there was a lot of flooding, so it is prone to sinkholes because there is a lot of water and because it's dolomitic as well, it's a problem and also to remind residents, you not allowed to do a borehole in this area because you make our problems bigger," said Morodi.
