Zanzou not authorised to operate as a nightclub - Tshwane Municipality

JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane Municipality said that Zanzou was not authorised to operate as a nightclub.
The popular Pretoria establishment has dominated headlines after videos emerged on social media showing bouncers at the club torturing and sexually abusing patrons.
Several criminal cases have been opened, with police on the hunt for eight men believed to be behind the acts.

Speaking on the sidelines of a compliance raid on Wednesday, chief of the Tshwane Metro Police Department, Yolande Faro, said that the club was also being investigated for possible contravention of the city’s bylaws.
"It is not zoned to be a nightclub, so we looking into all of that. We not only looking into Zanzou, we also looking into the other clubs that are affiliated to the owners and we will make sure that the whole strip, including all the nightclubs in Tshwane and Gauteng are compliant."
