JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) said if it was in charge of the Gauteng government it would conduct lifestyle audits on all MECs and make the results public.
On Thursday, the official opposition party held a media briefing in Johannesburg to present what it calls the true State of the Province Address (SOPA).
This is part of a long-held tradition for the opposition party to hold an alternative SOPA ahead of the official one which will be presented by Premier Panyaza Lesufi next week.

DA Gauteng leader Solly Msimanga said Lesufi had failed to conduct lifestyle audits on his cabinet, despite multiple promises to do so.
“Crime and improved service delivery will be intensely prioritised. By doing so, investor confidence will be boosted. Only then will there be more job opportunities for the residents of this province? A DA government will conduct regular lifestyle audits and make the results of the audit public. Furthermore, only officials and MECs fit for duty will be appointed. By doing so, the residents of this province will receive the service delivery they deserve,” Msimanga said.
