G20: JMPD advises Joburg south use motorists alternative routes to make way for traffic

JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) is advising motorists in the south of the city to use alternate routes from on Thursday morning to make way for G20 meetings traffic.
Foreign ministers are set to begin engaging at the Nasrec Expo Centre on Thursday.

The ministers in the G20 bloc are expected to discuss diplomatic ties and economic matters affecting member states.
Spokesperson Xolani Fihla said several routes will be affected, including Rand Show Road, Nasrec Road, Golden Highway, and Soweto Highway.
"While there'll be no road closures around the Expo Centre, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department officers will be deployed to manage traffic in the Nasrec precinct throughout the duration of the meeting."
