Ekurhuleni male nurse accused of rape to remain behind bars
The 49-year-old man appeared in Nigel Magistrates Court on Wednesday, and stands accused of raping 2 teenage boys in 2023.

JOHANNESBURG - A male nurse accused of rape and sexual assault in Duduza, Ekurhuleni will remain in custody for now.
The 49-year-old man appeared in Nigel Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is accused of sexually assaulting a 17 and 19-year-old in 2023.
In August 2023, a 17-year-old boy was admitted to the Springs Netcare Private Hospital where he met the accused for his medical procedure.
When the boy was discharged, it is alleged the suspect offered to visit the boy at home to give him his medication.
Before leaving, the suspect asked the boy to accompany him to his car where the rape happened on two occasions.
The suspect was allegedly seen again on several occasions parked at an open veld with different boys until he was reported by the community and the victims came forward to open their cases.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana: "A 49-year-old male nurse, from Duduza, appeared at the Nigel Magistrates Court. He is facing charges of rape for allegedly raping a 17-year-old boy. He is further facing a charge of sexual assault for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old young man."
The suspect will remain in police custody.
