This means Panyaza Lesufi will keep his job as Gauteng Premier, along with all ANC MECs.

Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, Gauteng Finance MEC and also ANC provincial executive member, Lebogang Maile, said he did not anticipate the work of government being impacted.

"I am giving you a budget speech on 4 March, there is no problem, the government is running. If you want the ANC to clarify for you on the internal matters, they are capable of doing that. We are working as deployees of the ANC and we are expected to ensure that things go well. Service delivery and where there are challenges, we will respond and that’s what we will do. There is no problem."

The ANC is due to officially communicate the reconfiguration details over the next few days.
