A manhunt has been launched for eight people linked to the attack.

Political parties have started gathering outside the nightclub to express their outrage over the alleged torture of patrons.

While a group of concerned student representatives protested outside the venue, a truck arrived to pick up stock and equipment.

However, the students blocked the truck from entering the premises, insisting that they would not permit the removal of any stock.

Mamba Nkuna, student leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, said the nightclub was attempting to evade accountability.

"We can’t allow them because allowing them means they must take the alcohol that’s remaining somewhere else so that their business can continue."

He said the establishment must close its doors for good.
