CAPE TOWN - Alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, is set to continue his testimony in the Western Cape High Court on Monday.
Modack and his 14 co-accused face various charges for crimes related to allegedly operating a criminal enterprise.
Modack is in the dock to account for the 122 charges he faces, including the murder of top cop, Charl Kinnear.
Nafiz Modack will take the stand again on Monday to continue telling the court about his dealings with co-accused, Amaal Jantjies.
Modack and Jantjies face several charges of conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly plotting three botched attacks on Lieutenant Charl Kinnear in 2019.
Modack said that he started liaising with Jantjies because he believed she was an attorney who had links to the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU).
He said he was told that Jantjies could help secure bail for a family member who was arrested by the AGU in October 2019.
Modack told the court he went to give Jantjies R20,000 to help with the bail application for another co-accused, Yannick Adonis, who was in prison for murder at the time.
He said that he also arranged for Jantjies to be given a BMW for her to do other legal work related to an inmate being held in a prison outside of Cape Town.
The trial continues on Monday.
