Gauteng EMS teams on alert after SA Weather Service issues warning for disruptive rain

JOHANNESBURG - Emergency services teams across Gauteng are calling on communities to remain alert during the tumultuous weather conditions expected for Monday.
This follows yellow level 5 warnings issued by the South African Weather Services of possible disruptive rain over most parts of the province.
Tshwane Emergency Services has cautioned residents to stay indoors and avoid crossing flooded roads and low-lying bridges.
Spokesperson Lindsay Zwelithini Mnguni said they would be on high alert for any emergencies that may arise.
"The ESD will continue to monitor the weather reports and remain on high alert for any related emergencies. Residents are equally strongly urged and encouraged to stay informed and monitor short-term weather forecasts and any warnings or alerts issued by the South African Weather Service and other credible sources, and to immediately follow the recommended safety tips."
