Cape Town man due in court over allegedly robbing cyclists

CAPE TOWN - A robber terrorising cyclists along the Woodstock bridge near the Cape Town CBD, is appearing in court on Monday.
He was nabbed over the weekend, after picking the wrong target, a police officer, who's also an avid cyclist.

Lieutenant Colonel Johan Pentz conducted an operation with Woodstock Crime Prevention Unit members and patrolled the notorious route on his bicycle, while his backup team was in the vicinity.
Pentz was attacked while crossing the bridge and the suspect managed to grab his cellphone pouch.
The officer gave chase and arrested the 34-year-old, who also had a tablet in his possession that he could not account for.
