JOHANNESBURG - Gautrain has announced that its buses will run every 15 minutes between Park Station and Rosebank following the closure of the tunnel between the two stations.
This after services were disrupted over the weekend due to unauthorised drilling on a private property located above the tunnel.
It's understood that the transport service's operating systems were hampered by soil and water that had seeped through from a borehole being dug above.
Gautrain spokesperson, Albi Modise, said that they'd increased bus services to ensure that commuters had reliable alternative transport.
"Ensuring the safety of passengers remains our primary focus while the repairs are taking place. A bus replacement service has been set up between Rosebank and Park stations. Buses will run every 15 minutes between the two stations from 05:30 to 20:30 as a contingency measure."
