JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane is warning residents against high-volume consumption of water.
The city said the demand is far higher than what can be supplied, causing pressure on the distribution network and Rand Water systems.
If this continues, many areas in the city will experience water shortages.

The city says they will have to instruct some restrictions of supply to deal with the situation.
“Residents are further reminded that the water level 1 restrictions that were imposed previously, in line with the Water Supply By-Laws, were never withdrawn and are therefore still applicable.
"If the consumption pattern does not change, Rand Water will instruct Tshwane to implement more stringent level 2 restrictions, which have cost implications for the consumers.”
