Wife arrested as suspect in murder of her Ekurhuleni Metro police officer husband

JOHANNESBURG - A woman suspected to be behind the murder of an Ekurhuleni Metro police officer has been arrested.
The officer who was the suspect’s husband was shot and killed last week in Kwa-Thema --- east of Johannesburg outside a tuck shop.
According to preliminary investigations, the wife paid a fee to one of the suspects currently in custody for the murder.
It's just a day before Banele Sikhosan’s funeral and his wife is behind bars.
She was nabbed by police from their family home in Kwa-Thema, leaving loved ones deep in preparations for Sikhosan’s send-off.
Ekurhuleni police said she previously attempted to murder her husband with food poisoning.
Acting chief of police in the metro, Julius Mkhwanazi said the man who was hired to kill the officer was commissioned by the wife.
“It happened that the hitman mentioned that he worked with the partner. They had planned together to kill the officer. “
