JOHANNESBURG - The attorney of an 18-year-old boy accused of killing his three-year-old brother says his client was diagnosed with schizophrenia before the incident.
This was revealed at Ikemetse Tsheole's bail application at the Vereeniging Magistrates Court on Thursday.
His attorney Lucky Sundani noted that he would be abandoning his bail application to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
This will be done to assess if he is fit to stand trial after poisoning his brother in January.
Sundani explained: "Social withdrawal, disorganised behaviour, praying at odd times, aggressive behaviour (threatening family members) destroying property and bizarre delusions."
