Gqeberha police investigate two separate kidnapping incidents

JOHANNESBURG - Gqeberha police are investigating two separate kidnapping incidents in the town.
In the first incident, 43-year-old Juan Yang was reported missing by her family on Thursday afternoon after they couldn't reach her.
Yang’s vehicle, a white VW Polo, was later found abandoned in KwaZakhele township.
In the second incident, which happened earlier on Friday, 47-year-old Arshad Mahmood was allegedly kidnapped outside his business premises in Korsten.

Police believe that five gunmen arrived in a black double cab bakkie and forced Mahmood into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said the motives behind these kidnappings remain unclear.
"Police have opened cases of kidnapping and are urging anyone with information that could assist in tracing the victims to contact Captain Christian Rowan on 082 442 1457 or call SAPS Crime Stop on 08600 10111."
