JOHANNESBURG - The water crisis in Johannesburg has led to the temporary closure of the local high court.
The Office of Chief Justice said a water shortage has led to them halting all operations for the day.
This comes after Rand Water warned residents to minimise consumption in the metro.
The city has been plunged into a dry spell because of the high demand for water.

Power failures in Eikenhof and the Vaal have exacerbated the issue, making it difficult for low levels of water to be stabilized to normal capacity.
Johannesburg Water's Managing Director, Ntshavheni Mukwevho said power has been restored and they expect their systems to be normalised in a few days.
"We are expecting that by the next, within the next two days or so. We should be able to stabilise the system. and what will happen is that, every day there will be systems that are coming back. For instance, you'll find that later in the evening, there are more systems that are back than what we have currently."
He said there are currently 55 water tankers that have been dispensed across the city to areas that are still affected.
