Ramaphosa's SONA delusional, out of touch & fanciful, says ActionSA's Trollip
Debating the speech in Parliament on Tuesday, Trollip said South Africa had for years allowed itself to be bullied by its allies and now the chickens were coming home to roost as the new US administration responded by pulling aid.

CAPE TOWN - ActionSA's parliamentary leader, Athol Trollip, said that President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address was delusional, out of touch and fanciful.
Debating the speech in Parliament on Tuesday, Trollip said South Africa had for years allowed itself to be bullied by its allies and now the chickens were coming home to roost as the new US administration responded by pulling aid.
"You have chosen friends that are pariah nations, that are neither democratic, neither uphold human rights, nations at war with their own people, through repressive regimes. Conversely, we treat democratic nations, our major trading partners, with disdain and insult. Let it be known that the racist rhetoric so freely bandied about in this Parliament and on party rally stages by the likes of the ANC, MK and EFF has grave consequences for us as a nation."

Meanwhile, Rise Mzansi leader, Songezo Zibi, said government must not be caught napping should the US decide to also cut South Africa's preferential trade tariffs.
"We must act now to protect our economic interests, internal stability and democracy in general. To those who want to use the opportunity presented by a racist right-wing government in the US to create further problems for us here in South Africa, these are people who do not care about you, they only care about their domestic agenda. We must focus on fixing our own country and building the society we all deserve."
