JOHANNESBURG - Coalition partners in Tshwane say they remain upbeat about political stability in the metro, placing the capital on good footing to meet its service delivery targets.

The ActionSA–ANC–EFF coalition took over governance last year in an unexpected power grab, leaving the Democratic Alliance (DA) and several other parties out in the cold.

During the October reshuffle, Nasiphi Moya took over office as the city's sixth mayor since 2016.

Over the years, the political fighting has had a spillover effect on residents and businesses.

In her 100 days in office, Moya said that her administration had put service delivery back at the centre.

"We understand that each of us brings something to the table. Obviously, I can't control what others say but whatever work I get to present is the outcome of collective effort."

Looking ahead to next year's local government elections, Moya said that she was under no illusion that the coalition partners would be on opposition ends of the campaign trail.

"But there is a constructive way of doing whatever we need to do as we campaign to 2026."
