JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has marked 100 days in office and said that her administration had made headway in turning the city around.
Moya replaced the Democratic Alliance (DA)’s Cilliers Brink in 2024 after the municipality battled political tensions that threatened to spill over and affect service delivery.
At the start of her term, Moya singled out six priorities to address. These included financial stability, infrastructure development and the better enforcement of by-laws.
On Tuesday, the mayor gave an update on her term in office in Tshwane.
"While we recognise that we have not met all our targets, we have made meaningful progress and, more importantly, laid a strong foundation for the changes still to come."
Moya admitted there had been some tough times but said that her administration had banded together to get the job done.
"It’s been a very progressive 100 days, and I have the support, I think that’s what matters to me. Of all the challenges the city has, which there are a lot of them, I always have someone to call."
