CAPE TOWN - From the end of February, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) grant recipients will need to use a Postbank black card.

Collection points have been set up all over Cape Town for citizens to make the swap before receiving their grant money.

SASSA said that failure to do the switch could result in complications and disruptions in receiving grant money.

Head of communications at SASSA, Paseka Letsatsi, said it was important that citizens know that they are now working with Postbank.

"I just need to clarify just a small matter that people are actually migrating from a SASSA gold card to a Postbank card so if the systems are down, it is not Sassa systems. It may be systems of another entity."
