How to replace SASSA Gold Cards (they expire on 28 February) with Postbank Black Cards

Zain Johnson speaks to Postbank CEO Nikki Mbengash about the switch from SASSA Gold Cards to Postbank Black Cards.

SASSA Gold Cards are expiring and must be replaced by Postbank Black Cards by 28 February 2025.

Gold Card holders can replace their cards at no cost at retailers such as Checkers, Usave, Boxer, Pick n Pay and Shoprite. Bring your ID or temporary ID along to do so.

It might be difficult to access your funds if your card has not been replaced, warns Mbengash.

"Your money that you get from SASSA is not affected at all, it will still go into your bank account. The difficulty will be accessing that if your card is not working."
