JOHANNESBURG - There are suggestions that Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema could have handled the dispute with former party member, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, better.

Some political analysts said that there were a number of loopholes in the manner in which Ndlozi was suspended from the organisation last year.

Ndlozi revealed in an interview with the SABC that he was suspended for failing to disclose his knowledge of Floyd Shivambu's plans to leave the party.

Ndlozi argued that his suspension was not in accordance with the EFF's constitution, which is why his dispute with the party's leadership remains unresolved.

Political analyst, Ralpha Mathekga, agreed with Ndlozi, stating the EFF could have avoided the situation it currently finds itself in.

"It was quite incumbent upon Mr Malema to just show a little restraint and allow internal processes to unfold. One understands that the whole departure caught him off guard and I think one understands why he responded the way he did but his response could have been much better."

Another analyst, Goodenough Mashego, shared a similar view, but added the party took what it deemed necessary steps to protect itself from what it viewed as the MK Party's infiltration of the EFF.
