JOHANNESBURG - Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Member of Parliament (MP) Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said he didn’t feel obligated to alert the party’s leaders about Floyd Shivambu’s plans to leave the organisation.

In an interview with the SABC on Monday morning, Ndlozi confirmed his resignation from the EFF and party politics.

His resignation came after the party suspended him for not disclosing his knowledge of Shivambu’s plans to join the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.

Ndlozi has confirmed that Shivambu, the former deputy president of the EFF, informed him about his intention to resign from the political party he helped establish.

He mentioned that it was not his place to notify EFF leader Julius Malema, as Shivambu had promised to communicate his decision to the party’s leadership at the appropriate time.

Ndlozi also argued that his suspension from the EFF was improper, as the party’s constitution does not outline how to enforce disciplinary actions in such situations.

He further claimed that the EFF had presented an intelligence report alleging his involvement in the MK Party's infiltration of the EFF.

However, Ndlozi denied any intention to join former President Jacob Zuma’s party.
