Manhunt underway for 2 murder suspects who evaded arrest during shootout in KZN's Inanda

On Saturday, officers received information about the whereabouts of five suspects wanted for multiple murders including the killing of two police officers.

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police are searching for two suspects who evaded arrest during a shootout in Inanda, north of Durban.

On Saturday, officers received information about the whereabouts of five suspects wanted for multiple murders including the killing of two police officers.

Police tracked the suspects to a house in Bhambayi, where they cornered the five men, leading to a violent shootout.

KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said three of the suspects died while two managed to escape.

"During the shootout, three suspects were shot and fatally wounded and three firearms were recovered. The suspects are also believed to be responsible for the recent murders of four people including two off-duty police constables and another murder of four people at a tavern in Sundumbili on Tuesday, the fourth of January."
