Macpherson welcomes Ramaphosa's commitment to turn SA into construction site

JOHANNESBURG - Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson says he welcomes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s commitment to turn South Africa into a construction site.
The president expressed his support for the work that the department has been doing during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday.

Macpherson says with Ramaphosa’s endorsement they are positive that they can secure a R100 billion additional investment in infrastructure.
He notes that this will also create more jobs and boost the economy.
“As the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, we remain fully committed to meaningfully contributing to President Ramaphosa's vision of increasing South Africa’s economic growth to above 3%, which will undoubtedly lead to job creation. The government of national unity truly represents renewed hope for South Africa’s future, and by working together, we are building a better country.”
