JOHANNESBURG - The president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaan, and his co-accused, SAFA CFO Gronie Hluyo, have launched a review application before the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.
They’re challenging the decision of the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court to dismiss the application for their charges dropped last year.
They appeared before the Magistrates Court again on Friday on charges of fraud after Jordaan allegedly used SAFA funds for personal benefit.
Last year, Jordaan and Hluyo sought to invoke Section 342a of the Criminal Procedures Act - citing unreasonable delays in their case due to other pending interlocutory matters.

That attempt to have the case struck from the roll was unsuccessful with Magistrate Sheron Soko-Rantao finding that the lower court did not have the jurisdiction to consider such an application.
Now the pair want the intervention of the high court to review this decision.
Their legal counsel, advocate Norman Arendse explained: "We have respectfully disagreed with your ruling on the 10th of December and we filed an application to review that decision. Those papers were issued yesterday. I think they have been served on you."
Arendse says they may also make representations before the Director of Public Prosecutions in the province to have the pair’s charges dropped.
