When parents send their children to school, they expect a safe and supportive environment.

However, a disturbing video of school violence at Lotus High School has recently surfaced on social media, sparking widespread outrage and concern among parents, educators, and the community at large.

The footage shows a group of boys and two girls beating and kicking a lone female student, with the assault occurring last Wednesday.

Price, upon learning of the incident, says that he immediately brought the matter to the attention of the Governing Body, resulting in the suspension of the students involved, and a formal disciplinary hearing scheduled for this weekend.

"I'm absolutely furious about the incident and, unfortunately, this is the reality of a school like Lotus."
- Stephen Price, Principal - Lotus High School

According to Price, the majority of the aggressors are grade eight students, while the victim is a grade 11 student.

Despite the school’s efforts to foster a positive environment, he acknowledges that there is still an undercurrent of aggression among the students, with violence often being their first response in conflict situations.

Price explains that, for many students, witnessing violence is a daily occurrence, and, unfortunately, they tend to replicate the behaviour they see.
