JOHANNESBURG - Living a simpler life should be normalised in the event that individuals cannot sustain their lifestyles.
That’s the advice from financial experts.
The chief marketing officer at Metropolitan was speaking at a round table discussion on Tuesday in Johannesburg, about the overwhelming statistics of financially stressed people.
The financial group conducted a survey revealing that 75% of South Africans are facing financial stress.
The company’s Lindiwe Gumede said a less expensive lifestyle could be a solution to this problem.
"If we start as a community talking positively about these experiences, and seeing them as small setbacks and not necessarily an end to life because you have to downgrade, it will help us as a collective to prosper and not be ashamed and not necessarily feel like we are failures."
