About 71.5 million litres of fuel would have been transported from Durban to ORTIA via a Transnet pipeline.
The decision to send fuel was made to alleviate a crisis which has severely affected airlines at ORTIA.
ACSA said it was able to ensure continued fuel supply for February, following a fire at the National Petroleum Refiners of South Africa (NATREF).
According to the company, the total available stock for fuel secured this month is 150 million litres, which will effectively end the fuel shortage at ORTIA.
The Department of Transport has further agreed that it is necessary to build a fuel reserve to serve as a critical safety buffer for future unforeseen circumstances.
Minister of Transport Barbara Creecy has commended the various stakeholders for their collaborative efforts to ensure continued operations at the airport.
