Two police officers among four dead in KZN tavern shooting

JOHANNESBURG - Four people, including two police officers, have been shot dead at a tavern in KwaZulu-Natal.
There was an altercation between a group of men and the off-duty officers which escalated into violence earlier this week at the outlet in Sundumbili.
Three people, including one of the officers, died on the scene while the second officer succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.

KZN police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, said that four other people were injured.
"Four more people were also shot at and injured and were rushed to hospital. Police have closed off the tavern and confiscated alcohol after it was established that the tavern was operating illegally. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage."
