JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) said it was unhappy with the "undermining manner" in which Rwandan President Paul Kagame engaged with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
South Africa and Rwanda are in a diplomatic tiff over the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The SA government has accused the Rwandan government of backing the M23 rebels which it says have killed 14 South African soldiers in the DRC city of Goma.
Rwanda has denied this, with Kagame referring to Ramaphosa as a liar and saying the country was ready to deal with South Africa if the confrontation escalated.
Speaking at a media briefing on Monday, EFF leader Julius Malema said that the party's call for the withdrawal of troops from the DRC should not be seen as advocating for weakness.
"Let’s regroup and retrain and if Rwanda has got anything to do with this, let's go for them because we are not going to have Rwanda dictating to us and Kagame speaking to Cyril the way he was doing. We know Cyril is weak but he remains the president of our country. The way he was addressing Cyril, he was addressing us. He can't address us like that. He can't kill our people and not be challenged."
