Cape Town police probing killing of man near Athlone court

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are searching for clues that could lead to the arrest of a gunman who shot and killed a man opposite the Athlone Magistrates Court.
 
Police believe the 43-year-old man was sitting on a pavement at the time of the incident on Monday afternoon.
 
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
 
The police's FC van Wyk: "According to preliminary reports, the deceased was sitting on the pavement opposite the Athlone Magistrates court. An unidentified male walked up to him and fired several gunshots at him. He died on the scene due to injuries sustained."
