NPA reveals millions deposited into Wilken's account
The court heard how Wilken, who says he doesn’t hold a steady job --received just over R2.5 million in deposits into his account in a year.

JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has on Monday revealed how millions of rand were deposited into the bank account of a man arrested in connection with a child pornography case.
Darryn Wilken and his partner, Tiona Moodley, were arrested last month after an international investigation involving the FBI, police, and other law enforcement agencies linked them to the production and distribution of around 10 million videos and images of child sexual abuse material.

The couple is back in the Randburg Magistrate's Court today, arguing why they should be released on bail.
The court heard how Wilken, who says he doesn’t hold a steady job --received just over R2.5 million in deposits into his account in a year.
Upon his arrest, authorities seized over R600,000 in cash from his home, along with 39 virtual cards, three vehicles, and multiple bank accounts.
The state is using these financial transactions to bolster its case against Wilken.
He faces at least 25 counts of money laundering, a schedule 5 offence that carries a minimum sentence of 15 years per count.
The accused also faces charges involving 10 million items of child sexual abuse material.
Each video or image could result in a minimum sentence of five years behind bars.
