Gauteng ANC leadership says it will start working on strengthening branches ahead of reconfiguration

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) leadership in Gauteng said it would start working on strengthening its branches ahead of its impending reconfiguration.
The ANC’s national leadership recently resolved to shake up its Gauteng structure following 2024’s poor electoral performance.

There's also the chance a task team may be deployed to oversee the province’s political activities.
ANC Gauteng chairperson, Panyaza Lesufi, spoke about the matter at the party's January 8 celebration in Alexandra on Sunday.
"All of us must listen to our national leadership, to guide us and to strengthen us so that we have a stronger ANC. So, [national] leadership, your intervention is welcome and we are going to support it."
