Hope and Harmony Foundation in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, is one of the affected NPOs.
There are fears they may be forced to close down if the problems persist.
Itumeleng Kekana is the founder of the Hope and Harmony Foundation.
They cater to children and the elderly, are involved in recycling and run feeding schemes catering to more than 300 people.
They’ve signed a service level agreement of R350,000 but have not received anything.
“Ever since we have been waiting for [the] Social Development [Department], we don’t know what is happening. When we ask questions, nobody ever knows, and finally, when we joined GCCC, then there was a light last year,” said Hope and Harmony Foundation’s Itumeleng Kekana.
Kekana said they’ve been surviving on donations so far.
