CAPE TOWN - The case against alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield, his wife, Nicole Johnson, former Cape Town human settlements MMC, Malusi Booi, and 26 others has been postponed for seven weeks.
Some of the accused appeared in person and while others joined via a video link from prison at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Friday.
They're facing more than 50 serious charges including murder, fraud, corruption and money laundering.
Stansfield's younger brother, Kyle Stansfield, and Johnson's mother, Barbara Johnson, have also been added to the indictment.
The murder charges relate to the killing of City of Cape Town official, Wendy Kloppers, in February 2023 as well as the murder of former Hard Livings gang boss, Rashied Staggie, in 2019.
The prosecution has asked the court to postpone the matter so it could wrap up its investigation.
The State has told the court that it has more than 100 bank statements that are yet to be analysed.
The court also heard that there are several electric devices, including laptops, tablets, and cell phones, with documents that still need to be downloaded and analysed.
The matter has been postponed to 20 March for the State to finish its investigation.
