Winde honours WC's top matriculants from 2024 at award ceremony

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape’s top achieving matriculants for 2024 were honoured on Thursday.
Premier Alan Winde held the prestigious National Senior Certificate Awards ceremony at his Leeuwenhof residence.
Learners who achieved exceptional academic results were acknowledged for their hard work.
The annual event saw representatives from multiple schools across the province.
Learners, teachers and principals from the various schools were acknowledged for their hard work throughout 2024.
The event is also a chance to honour those who despite facing adversity managed to achieve excellent results.
Winde said he was excited for the learners and what they have achieved so far.
"It's really exciting and it's always every year when you come here, and you see those top achiever students and you hear what they're getting these marks for and then you hear 100% here and 100% full marks. It's just mind-blowing that our young people can actually achieve what they achieve."
Schools were also recognised for improvements made in various categories such as mathematics marks, technical improvements and for maintaining a pass rate of 95% and above.
