Teen sentenced to 10 years in prison for murdering girl who refused to kiss him

The 15-year-old boy was sentenced to 10 years for murder, three years for the illegal possession of a firearm, and one year for the illegal possession of ammunition in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

CAPE TOWN - A fifteen-year-old boy has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of a fourteen-year-old who refused to kiss him.  

The teenage boy was sentenced to 10 years for murder, three years for the illegal possession of a firearm, and one year for the illegal possession of ammunition in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on Tuesday.  

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the accused shot and killed fourteen-year-old Naeema Marshall in Klenvlei in July 2023 - after she refused to kiss him.  

"The accused was found guilty on 28 November 2024 for the charges that were brought before the court. He remained in custody for the duration of the trial, and it was proven beyond reasonable doubt that he was guilty of murder."
