NTUZUMA - The 12 men accused of killing five people in the Bhambayi area of Inanda, north of Durban, are back in court to apply for bail.
The group is accused of killing five people with a bush knife two weeks ago.
Police said the victims were kidnapped from their homes and assaulted before they were murdered.
The motive for the gruesome incident is still unclear.
The 12 accused murderers were back in the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court on Wednesday to apply for bail.

The State in the matter said it was not opposed to bail.
It added that its witnesses had been moved to an undisclosed location.
The accused are expected to take the stand during the bail application.
While court proceedings continue, a group of community members are protesting outside demanding the group be released.
