Fraud case against former Joburg mayor Kabelo Gwamanda postponed to February
Last year, Gwamanda handed himself over to police after he was linked to a funeral scheme which allegedly operated through his company Ithemba Lama Afrika.

JOHANNESBURG - The fraud case against former Joburg mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda, has been postponed to 25 February.
Last year, Gwamanda handed himself over to police after he was linked to a funeral scheme that allegedly operated through his company, Ithemba Lama Afrika.
Bringing evidence forward to the court, the State claims that Gwamanda had been duping victims since at least 2011.

The matter was postponed for final disclosure and the wrapping up of a trial readiness certificate.
"Postponed to 25 February 2025. Representations to the director of public prosecutions and final for your disclosure to your legal representative and final for the trial readiness certificate from the senior prosecutor. Your bail is extended. You have to be back here at 8h30, that will be at court number 2."
