Delayed flights and problems at airports can cause significant inconveniences for passengers.
A delay can also be a significant financial burden, whether it involves missing meetings when travelling for business or missing connecting flights.
Barnes says there has been a rise in air traffic delays internationally, primarily due to weather.
While South African airports are having these challenges, we still fare better than many other parts of the world.
“We are actually quite good. We are experiencing a rise in delays, but we are not as badly affected as the rest of the world.”
