JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has requested an investigation to be conducted by the National Treasury for irregularities in a water tanker tender worth R236 million.
The tender was awarded by the City of Johannesburg to Nutinox and BuiltPro Constructions.
According to recent investigations by The Daily Maverick and AmaBhungane, there were indications of price manipulation and crude selection processes, among other major concerns.

The party claimed they had sent their request to raise concerns with the necessary bodies but were met with silence.
“The DA had seen, like all residents, the major challenge experienced with the current water tanker service providers,” said DA caucus leader Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku.
“During the recent water crisis and planned maintenance shutdowns, tankers could not provide water to those who needed it. We will do all we can, especially with these new dodgy tenders, to avoid continued failures."
