JOHANNESBURG - KwaZulu-Natal emergency services have responded to a structural collapse near King Shaka International Airport in Durban.
It's understood that multiple teams, including the metro’s search and rescue and eThekwini fire department, have been deployed to attend to the scene.
Preliminary reports indicate that there are about ten critical patients at the scene, however, at this stage, the nature of the injuries and fatalities is unconfirmed.
Marshall Security's community support, Andreas Mathios: "Multiple service providers have responded to the airport as a result of a structural collapse involving workers. All rescue services are on scene. The circumstances around this incident is unclear at this stage and if there are any injuries or fatalities but I can also confirm that Netcare's 911 aeromedical helicopter has also been dispatched to the area."
