JOHANNESBURG - The EFF says it supports e-hailing drivers impacted by what it calls maladministration by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD).

The City of Tshwane claims it's grappling with a backlog in issuing e-hailing permits, leaving hundreds stranded and unable to operate legally.
The EFF says it's unacceptable and has called on the city and TMPD to stop impounding vehicles, and work with the roads and transport department to find a solution.
"The EFF in Gauteng stands in unwavering solidarity with the e-hailing drivers who have been unjustly impacted by the bureaucratic red tape and punitive measures imposed by the Tshwane Metro Police Department," said the EFF's Dumisani Baleni.
"These actions not only disrupt their livelihoods but also expose a systemic failure to support small business operators and entrepreneurs in our community."
