JOHANNESBURG - JOHANNESBURG - The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is calling on the Private Student Housing Association (PSHA) to provide it with a list of all outstanding accommodation bills.
Earlier this week, the association released a statement claiming it was still waiting for R44 million from NSFAS.
The scheme said it would only finalise payments when it receives receipts that legitimise claims made by accommodation providers.
NSFAS spokesperson Ishmael Mnisi said the list is required so they are able to process and verify claims.
"NSFAS will validate the list and process payments of legitimate claims, which might not have been paid through institutions and NSFAS payment service providers. In the current academic year, NSFAS is implementing measures to ensure certainty and clarity about claims and disbursements."
