JOHANNESBURG - With Parliament’s first sitting just two weeks away, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party says it has a good relationship with its Progressive Caucus partner, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

This is despite the EFF having called the MK Party its number-one enemy.

At a media briefing on Thursday, the MK Party said it harbours no ill will for the red berets.

The Progressive Caucus is a group of four parties opposed to the Government of National Unity.

With Parliament having been in recess, the EFF has been aiming for its progressive partner, accusing the MK Party of recruiting its members and trying to destabilise it.

The Mk Party's Secretary General Floyd Shivambu said all that is in the past.

“The Progressive Caucus charter continues to define common progressive politics that we are jointly in common pursuit of.”

Parliament’s first sitting is expected to take place on 6 February when President Cyril Ramaphosa delivers the annual State of the Nation Address (SONA).
